Accessibility

The standard

This site is built to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, version 2.2, at level AA. That is a target we test against on every change, not a claim we make once.

What that means in practice

Every control can be reached and used from the keyboard, in visual order, with a visible focus ring. Every page has one main heading, with the rest in order below it. Text and background pairs meet the contrast ratios the guidelines set. Nothing depends on hover, nothing requires dragging, and nothing flashes.

Movement is kept to a minimum. If your system asks for reduced motion, the site plays a plain cut in place of every move. All content is readable with JavaScript off and at 320 pixels wide, and the layout survives 200 percent zoom.

The enquiry form has visible labels, errors that name the field and say how to fix it, and a status message that is announced when the form is sent.

How it is tested

Automated checks run on every page and on the form with an error showing, with zero violations allowed. A person goes through the site with a keyboard and a screen reader before each release.
